Board of Governors

ROLE

The Board of Governors serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees and Officers on major policy and institutional matters. It has no executive authority.

 

COMPOSITION

The Board of Governors is composed of not more than eleven (11) members as follows:

  • The incumbent Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines (Ex-Officio)
  • The incumbent President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (Ex-Officio)
  • The Immediate Past President of the Board of Trustees (Ex-Officio)
  • The incumbent honorary Canadian Consul in Cebu (Ex-Officio)
  • At least three (3) other Canadian citizens, not presently members of the Board of Trustees, appointed  by the Board of Trustees
  • At least three (3) other Filipino citizens, not presently members of the Board of Trustees, appointed  by the Board of Trustees

 

TERM

The incumbent Ambassador of Canada, the incumbent President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and the incumbent Honorary Canadian Consul in Cebu as well as the Immediate Past President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees serve concurrently with their respective terms of office. The other Governors serve for a term of one (1) year and may be reappointed by the Board of Trustees on a year-to-year basis.

 

CHAIR

The Ambassador of Canada is the Chairperson of the Board of Governors. In the absence of the Ambassador, the President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees acts as Chairperson.

 

MEETINGS

Meetings may be called by the Chaiperson of the Board of Governors or by the President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
